Leicester City: The Foxes Fairytale Season

The 2014/15 season in the Premier League was awful for Leicester. They were sitting in 20th place with no hopes of survival. But one game would change that. Leicester walked onto their home ground, the King Power Stadium, against West Ham. Everyone must have thought, another loss is in the books after these 90 plus minutes. But, things took an odd turn when Leicester’s Esteban Cambiasso put them in the lead. West Ham equalized though a few minutes later. Then, West Ham missed a penalty! Late into the second half, Leicester scored a late goal to secure three points. Then for the rest of the season they were able to win a majority of their games to avoid relegation along with a 14th place finish.

This season, what they have achieved is unheard of. Leicester were on a streak like no other. They were virtually unbeatable! Luck was on their side. When people saw that Leicester in third, they had a good laugh. Everyone knew that surely such a tiny club would be relegated, wouldn’t they? I mean, their chances of winning the league were 500-1. Sorry, I meant 5000-1. But ohhh did they prove those critics wrong. Fast forward a few games and guess what, they were on their way, in first place, to an EPL title and a Champions League Group Stage place. It was all thanks to the main man Jamie Vardy who broke a Ruud van Nistelrooy record by scoring 11 matches straight. Also, they had their skillful right winger by the name of Riyad Mahrez. Without them the LCFC title dream would have vanished.

Fast forward to May 2nd. The Leicester City team, including the fans, are watching to see if 2nd place Tottenham will drop points. The score is currently 2-1 to Tottenham. The fans are now extremely focused on the gam as Hazard races into the box. Hazard loses his balance but still is able to take the shot aaaaand HE SCORES!!!!! Pandemonium in Leicester as everyone celebrates like crazy! Leicester have won the title! A miracle night for pretty much everyone in Europe watching.

Well their you have it. The Foxes fairytale season is reality, not a story. I simply call in crazy.
